All fishing permits have to be pre booked
Leighton Reservoir is situated between the Yorkshire Dales and Moors National Parks; it is part of Swinton Estate near to the village of Masham North Yorkshire. It is surrounded by moorland and enjoys fabulous views.
The reservoir is 105acres with 90 acre fishable by Bank
anglers, it is 90ft deep when full but the level can vary through the year due
to rainfall.
In common with most upland waters the reservoir carries a
permanent peat stain and has its own fly life.
The reservoir is just 3 miles from Swinton trout farm and is
stocked with Rainbow Trout from 1.5lbs to 20lbs. It has a reputation for large
fish; stocks are kept at a high level for a reservoir of its size and anglers
seldom go home disappointed.
