Our fishing season runs from end February to early January, tickets are self-service from a hut on the car park. Anglers can start fishing from 6.00am and must finish at the time displayed on the side of the hut.
Anglers must park their cars in the car park, there is a disabled park by the dam wall, and this is for blue badge holders only.
There are a number of rules and anglers are advised to read
these before starting to fish. Barbless or de-barbed hooks must be used at all
times. Anglers are allowed to take up to 3 fish but only one can be above 8lb
in weight, Catch and release tickets are available.
Troutmasters:
Leighton is Troutmasters water, entry forms can be found in the hut. Each entry
must be stamped by a member of Leighton staff.
Tuition can be
arranged, contact a member of staff.
Flies to use:
During winter, lures for example Dawsons Olive, Green Fritz, Bloodworm and Cats
Whisker. In summer, spring, and autumn, fish can be caught on dry flies, nymphs
and buzzers. Dark flies such as Bibio can be successful.
Facilities
Facilities include a lodge, toilets, and parking. Tickets
are self-service from the office at the car park.
There are a number of ticket options including catch and release, first 3 fish, concessionary, junior and evening tickets.
