Angling Report - January 2010

12th January; despite a slight thaw the lakes are still unfishable. The Heron and Mallard lakes are completely covered in ice. The Island Lake has a small part which is free from ice but not enough for fishing.

Sunday 17th January; the lakes are thawing. David Warwick has a great day catching 19 fish six of which were over 5lbs, the largest 7lbs .

Monday the 19th, the Island lake is open for fishing.

Saturday 23rd January.

Dean Taylor caught 7 fish using a small Bloodworm the largest was 14lbs, seen in the picture above. Later that day Cavin Greer caught 16, seven of which were over 5lbs, the largest was 10lbs. Black buzzers under an indicator are most successful.

 

Wednesday 26th January

All lakes are completely free from ice and the fish are taking well to lures and buzzers. Frank Vaughan caught and returned 23 fish on an assortment of lures.

Note; Bait fishing on the Heron lake finishes at 6.00pm.
