Angling Report - December 2009

A very hard frost on the 1st of December resulted in two thirds of the Island lake being frozen. As the lake thawed the fish were very active and large numbers were caught, Frank Vaughan caught and released over 20 fish, Arnold Patefield caught 15 fishing in the afternoon using a worm fly and Marion Baldwin also caught 15 using an assortment of flies.

Friday the 18th, Paul Procter had a successful visit to Bessy Beck catching a total of 19 fish see his report at www.paulprocterflyfishing.co.uk. paul's blog.

Bessy Beck on the 24th December 2009, fishing is almost impossible due to ice. A day of wind and rain will transform the situation.

30th December almost a third of the Island Lake is fishable, enough space for six anglers.
