Angling Report - May 2009

3rd May, using Nymphs and Dries, Andy McCram from Cheadle Cheshire caught and released 25 fish.

5th May the weather is wet and very windy yet Arnold Patefield braved the elements to catch 24 fish to 6lbs. Arnold began the 4hr session using his normal buzzers but then changed to a small fritz lure which was very effective in the extreme conditions.

7th May, local angler David Hayward caught and returned 20 fish to 10lbs using a very small spider pattern.

8th May, Dean Taylor from Penrith using a Sedge and small buzzer combination caught and returned 17 fish.

Cold winds and rain hampered fishing during the middle of the month. The weather had turned slightly better for the Fishing Festival  opening event at Bessy Beck on the 16th.

fest7.jpgfest8.jpgA Dry Fly competition was hald on Monday evening 18th when a lot of fish were caught mainly to Black Klinkhammers and Hoppers.

Dry flies are best!
