On the 26th April, 9 year old Ross Bailey from Carlisle caught this 4lb 12oz fish from the Mallard Lake using a No14 Black Buzzer. It is the largest fish to come off the Mallard Lake for some time.

For the most of April the weather has been bright and sunny with cold winds and fishing results have been mixed.

Dean Taylor has been successful on a number of occasions this month, his best catch being 19 and his largest fish was10lbs.

Kevin Henderson practicing for the CEFF Team event caught15 fish, but in the competition caught only one. The following week he returned to catch 21, that's fishing!

Fish are now feeding on the surface, small Black Buzzers and black Klink Hammers are doing well.

We can expect Hawthorn Flies fairly soon in May giving us the best sport of the year.
