Unsettled weather saw some anglers experiance a feast and others a famine at Bessy Beck during March.
In milder conditions and light winds the fishing was positively explosive. Dean Taylor from Penrith released large numbers of fish over several visits using a team of buzzers fished static, with black being the favoured colour.
Breezy days often brought rain and a significant drop in temperature. Then it was benificial to search deeper water with sinking lines and Cat's Whisker, Bloodworm or Orange Blob.
The Troutmasters fish-off was won by Graeme Bell with David Mordue a close second. Bloodworm and Buzzers featured heavily for both anglers.
