Fishing during the latter half of July and early August has been unpredictable due to thundery warm weather. There have been some very good days with catches up to 22 in a session, yet on other days some anglers have struggled to catch a fish. There have been some good evening rises but fish have been selective due to the abundance of fly life. The rod average for July was 3.5.
There have been a number of large fish caught. David Came 141b, Chris Buttle 121b, and Tony Daykin had a blue of 6.5lbs.
The most successful flies have been black and red buzzers, damsel nymphs, and black Klinkhammers. Fish are starting to be caught on Daddy Long Legs.
We are looking forward to more rain and fresher days.
