Good fishing conditions during the last month have ensured good sport particularly to dry flies. Daddies, Black Spiders and Sedges have all been successful at times.
Buzzers, both black and brown have accounted for the largest catches. Arnold Patefield used buzzers to catch and return 23 then 29 in consecutive visits fishing for no more than 4hrs.
A lot of fish around 3-4lb being caught, mainly blues. The best time as we go into colder weather will be the middle of the day. However calm evenings can also be very successful.
The weed in the Island lake that plagued us for most of last summer and winter has now completely gone and intermediate and sunk lines can now be used.
