2008 Cumbrian fishing competition

This event was held at Bessy Beck in August 2008 and if funding is available will again be held at Bessy Beck in 2009.

Fifty five anglers took part in the competition and caught 135 fish, the anglers used a mixture of bait and fly fishing.

Nelson Bailey travelled across from Northern Ireland to attend. He has been competing at the Jack Charlton Disabled competitions for about 16 years He said "It is about much more than catching fish, it is a great way to meet up with old freinds and make new ones, what's more, Bessy Beck is well stocked with some great fish and it is easy for wheelchair users to fish!"
