Bessy Beck Trout Fishery has angling for all abilities but with easy and safe access; the cooperative trout make it especially suited to those trying for the first time.
You could start by bait fishing to get a taste for catching fish then try fly fishing on our easier fly lake. Coaching is available at all stages.
In the privacy of our own lakes tuition is very relaxed and informal. To start with we teach a roll cast, then a basic overhead cast this takes up to two hours. You should then be in a position to try and catch your first trout on the fly from our Mallard Lake.
Tuition will include how to hook, play, land, kill or release your first trout. All lessons include tackle hire for the occasion, and then if you get hooked we can advise on a properly balanced outfit suitable for your needs.
